CPR training in Barbados

Learn CPR the way it's actually used — hands on a manikin, running realistic scenarios, until the technique is muscle memory. Adult, child and infant CPR plus AED use, internationally certified.

Cardiac arrest is not rare in Barbados and the ambulance is not always fast. Bystander CPR — done early, done well — is the single biggest factor in whether someone survives. Every 3-hour course we run in Bridgetown, Warrens or on your worksite is built around that one goal: making sure that when it happens in front of you, you know exactly what to do.

What you'll learn

  • Recognising cardiac arrest in adults, children and infants.
  • Chest compressions — rate, depth, hand position, and how long you can actually keep going.
  • Rescue breathing technique, and when to skip it (hands-only CPR).
  • Using an AED safely, including on wet, hairy, or pacemaker-fitted chests.
  • The recovery position and post-resuscitation care.
  • Team CPR — swapping in without breaking the compression rhythm.
  • Choking response for adults, children and infants.

Course agenda

  • 0:00 – 0:30 — Cardiac arrest, the chain of survival, why bystanders matter more than paramedics.
  • 0:30 – 1:15 — Adult CPR on the manikin. Compressions, breaths, cycles. Every student gets full hands-on time.
  • 1:15 – 1:45 — Child and infant CPR — what changes, what doesn't.
  • 1:45 – 2:15 — AED walkthrough on trainer units. Pad placement, safety, integrating with CPR.
  • 2:15 – 2:45 — Choking, recovery position, full-scenario runs.
  • 2:45 – 3:00 — Skills sign-off and certificate issue.

Frequently asked questions

How much does CPR training cost in Barbados?
Individual public courses start at BBD $250 per person, which includes your manikin time, AED trainer time, all consumables, and your internationally-recognised certificate. Private or corporate group sessions are a flat BBD $1,950 for the whole group, delivered at your site.
How long is a CPR course?
About 3 hours from arrival to certificate for a standalone CPR & AED course. Longer if bundled with a full first-aid syllabus. We keep the group small so you spend most of that time actually on a manikin, not watching slides.
What certification do I get?
An HSI and/or PADI EFR CPR & AED certificate, valid for 2 years and recognised worldwide by employers, cruise lines, and dive operators.
Do I need prior experience?
No. Every course starts from the fundamentals. Whether you've never touched a manikin or you're renewing a lapsed cert, we run the full syllabus so nothing is assumed.
How often should I re-certify?
Every 2 years. We run the whole course again rather than a short refresher — students consistently retain more when they cover the full syllabus from the start.
Can you train my whole team on-site?
Yes. Private and corporate group sessions run at your office, hotel, dive shop, clinic or school anywhere on the island. Flat BBD $1,950 for the group, all equipment included.
