Workplace first aid training in Barbados

On-site first aid, CPR and AED certification for Barbados businesses. Delivered where your team already works, at times that don't shut down operations.

What Barbados employers actually need

The Safety and Health at Work Act (OSH Act) obliges every employer to take reasonably practicable steps to protect staff. In practice, that means at least a proportion of your team certified in first aid and CPR, current within the last two years, and a properly stocked first-aid provision on site. We help you get there in a single session.

How workplace training runs

  • We come to your site — office, factory, warehouse, hotel, dive shop, clinic.
  • We bring all equipment: manikins (adult, child, infant), AED trainers, bandaging supplies.
  • Groups of up to 12 per instructor session — larger teams split across the day or across days.
  • Certificates issued the same day, valid 2 years.
  • Sessions can run in office hours, evenings, or on staff development days — whatever least disrupts operations.

Course options

  • Basic First Aid, CPR & AED (HSI) — 1 day, the standard workplace certification. Every student starts from the fundamentals — no assumed prior knowledge.
  • Advanced workplace — bespoke module bolt-ons for higher-risk industries (bleeding control, fall trauma, chemical exposure, marine emergencies).
  • Re-certification — every 2 years, the full 1-day course again. We don't run short refreshers: we've found people retain far more when they cover the whole syllabus from the start.

Day-of agenda

  • Morning — primary assessment, adult CPR, AED integration, choking, recovery position, unresponsive patient.
  • Midday — bleeding control, wound care, shock, burns.
  • Afternoon — medical emergencies (heart attack, stroke, seizure, allergic reaction, asthma), fractures and spinal, environmental (heat, dehydration).
  • End of day — full-scenario team runs, skills sign-off, certificates issued on the spot.

Frequently asked questions

How much does workplace first aid training cost in Barbados?
Private and corporate group training is a flat BBD $1,950 for the whole group, delivered on-site with every piece of equipment included. That's the standard rate whether you have 3 staff or 12. If you'd rather send individuals to a public course, the individual rate is BBD $250 per person.
How many staff should be certified under the OSH Act?
The Safety and Health at Work Act requires reasonably practicable steps to protect staff. In practice that usually means at least one certified first-aider per shift, more for higher-risk sites (factory, warehouse, hospitality, marine, chemical). We'll advise on the right number when you enquire.
How long is the workplace course?
A full workplace certification runs one day (roughly 6–7 hours including a break). Groups of up to 12 per instructor session — larger teams are split across the day or across multiple days.
Can you deliver the training at our site?
Yes — this is what we do most days. Office, factory, warehouse, hotel, dive shop, clinic, school. We bring the manikins, AED trainers, bandaging supplies and everything else. Your team never leaves the building.
What certification do employees receive?
HSI Basic First Aid, CPR & AED — internationally recognised, valid for 2 years, verifiable through HSI.
How do we re-certify staff after 2 years?
We re-run the full 1-day course rather than a short refresher. Retention is significantly better when the whole syllabus is covered again from scratch — this is a deliberate choice, not corner-cutting.
