FAQ

First aid & CPR training in Barbados — your questions answered

With 1,000+ students trained over 10+ years, we've heard just about every question. Here are the ones we hear most.

Courses & pricing

01

How much does a first aid course cost in Barbados?

Courses for individuals start at $250 per person. Full first aid and workplace certifications start at $1950. Business/workplace bookings for groups get a flat per-group rate — send a quote request and we'll price it against your team size and preferred location.

02

How long does a first aid course take?

A business workshop for CPR + AED workshop is about 3 hours. A full first aid, CPR & AED course is one day (5-6 hours with breaks).

03

What's the difference between CPR and first aid?

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is the specific technique for restarting a stopped heart — chest compressions and rescue breaths, plus AED use. First aid is broader: bleeding control, choking, fractures, burns, shock, allergic reactions, and everything else that can happen before medical help arrives. Most of our courses cover both.

04

Do you offer AED-only training?

We don't.

Logistics & scheduling

05

Where are courses held?

Individual courses run at our training location in Warrens and Collymore Rock. We provide free drinks and snacks. For private and business courses, we come to you. We bring all equipment — manikins, AED trainers, bandaging supplies.

06

How soon can I get certified?

For individuals, we usually have a public date every Saturday & Sunday. For businesses, we can typically deliver within 5–10 business days of a confirmed booking.

07

Do I need to be fit to take a first aid course?

We train all sorts of bodies. There will be some getting down, some kneeling and some getting back up but we have adaptive training techniques. It always works out. Either way, tell us in advance and we'll adapt — we've certified many students with mobility restrictions before.

08

Do you train children or teenagers?

Yes. We run babysitter first aid for teens (13+), family courses for parents, and school-group programs. Younger children can attend adult courses if a parent is present.

09

What if I need to cancel?

Cancellations more than 72 hours before the course get a full refund or free reschedule. Inside 72 hours we can reschedule but the deposit is non-refundable.

Certification & business bookings

10

How long does a first aid or CPR certificate last in Barbados?

Two years from the date of the course, for every certification we issue (EFR, HSI and PADI). To renew, you re-sit the full course — we don't run short refreshers because we've found students retain far more when they cover the whole syllabus start-to-finish.

11

Is the certification recognised outside Barbados?

Yes. We are the only first aid school to issue certificates through several different bodies, allowing you to find the certification that's right for you. We teach PADI, HSI and EFR — all internationally recognised. Employers, dive shops, cruise lines, and international schools across the world accept these certifications.

12

What accreditations do you hold?

PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), HSI (Health & Safety Institute) and EFR (Emergency First Response). We are an Approved Training Center for HSI and an accredited EFR Instructor Trainer facility.

13

Can you train my whole company?

That's our biggest area of work — over 1,000 students trained, most of them through employer bookings. We've delivered courses for dive operators, hotels, schools, factories, banks, government agencies and dental practices. Visit our Business page for a quote.

14

What if only one or two of us need training?

Book online. Small groups are combined into our public course dates so you'll train alongside other individuals.

15

Do you deliver training on other Caribbean islands?

Yes, on request. Most of our work is in Barbados but we've delivered corporate and dive-team training across the region.

Still have a question?

Send us a WhatsApp or email and we'll answer the same day — we don't route enquiries through a call centre.
